Dolly’s early gospel recordings, including her first full gospel album Golden Streets of Glory, are getting reissued in a new release from RCA Nashville and Legacy Recordings titled Letter To Heaven: Songs of Faith & Inspiration. The album features all ten original tracks from Dolly’s 1971 album, Golden Streets of Glory, plus seven additional tracks including a previously unreleased song called “Would You Know Him”. Letter To Heaven: Songs of Faith & Inspiration also features a brand new liner notes essay written by Billboard magazine’s Deborah Evans Price in which she states, “A seven-time Grammy Award winner, the Tennessee-born singer/songwriter has enjoyed hits in the pop, country and bluegrass genres, but no musical art form reflects the soul of Dolly Parton better than gospel music.” The album is due out May 4th and can be pre-ordered now at Amazon.
