Watch Dolly’s full interview with Matt Lauer from NBC’s Today Show in the above player as she chats up 9 To 5: The Musical and the meaning behind “Backwoods Barbie”.

Dolly will be making a number of television appearances over the coming weeks to promote 9 To 5: The Musical. She will appear on NBC’s Today Show tomorrow (April 22), CBS’s The Late Show With David Letterman on April 28 and The View on May 1st. 9 To 5: The Musical is in previews now and officially opens on April 30th. The Book Lady, a half-hour Canadian documentary film about Dolly’s campaign for children’s literacy, has been invited to screen at the 40th Nashville Film Festival (April 16 to 23, 2009).

“We are excited to show the The Book Lady to a Nashville audience,” said the film’s producer Brad Horvath. “More than half of all the preschool children in Tennessee participate in the program. Plus, there isn’t a more appropriate city to show a documentary about country music’s biggest star!”

“Some children even believe Dolly delivers the books herself while they are sleeping,” said the film’s director Natasha Ryan, who was attracted to the project for it’s blend of politics and popular culture. “Dolly is a woman who frequently in the same day graces both the pages of gossip blog perezhilton.com and positive parenting websites. She is whatever you want her to be and yet is utterly uncompromising about her image.”

According to Parton, who is in New York preparing 9 to 5: The Musical for its Broadway debut on April 30, the documentary reminded her that she was on the right track: “The Book Lady captures the heart and soul of the Imagination Library and taught me once again that what we do for children will, in the end, be our legacy.”

The Book Lady, which has its US Premiere at the Cleveland International Film Festival last month, is part of Nashville Film Festival’s Tennessee Treasures program on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:15 PM and Thursday, April 23 at 8:45 PM at Regal Green Hills Cinemas (3815 Green Hills Village Drive). Dolly’s upcoming children’s book I Am A Rainbow is due out May 14th from Putnam Books.

For those who missed Dolly’s fantastic interview on ‘60 Minutes’, CBS has posted the entire 13 minute segment online that fans can watch in the player below. The show profiled Dolly as she shared stories from her childhood, also discussing her business empire and her latest projects. In an emotional moment towards the end of the segment, Morley Safer surprised Dolly with an old video clip of Dolly singing with her family on her 1970’s variety show to which Dolly got choked up watching. Fancast has also posted several extended clips from her interview which can be viewed on their website.

CBS has posted two preview clips of Dolly’s upcoming interview on 60 Minutes as well as a story on CBS News about Dolly’s business sense in which she comments, “I look like a woman but think like a man and in this world of business that has helped me a lot…by the time they think that I don’t know what’s going on, I done got the money and gone.” Catch Dolly’s full interview on 60 Minutes this Sunday, April 5, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
