New Dolly Interviews Airing This Week

Also this Wednesday, Dolly will appear on GAC Nights in an intimate sit-down interview with Suzanne Alexander as they discuss Dolly’s upcoming Backwoods Barbie World Tour, her songwriting, and “all the Dolly’isms you know and love.” The program airs at 10 PM on April 16th on GAC with a repeat episode airing at 2 AM on April 17th.

Dolly is also interviewed by Maureen McCormick, most famously known as Marcia on the Brady Bunch, on this Thursday’s episode of Access Hollywood. The interview was filmed during this past weekend at Dollywood. Check your local listings for air times and channels.

Dolly-ites Presale For L.A. This Wednesday

Pre-sale tickets for Dolly’s concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on August 3rd will be available to Dollyite members starting at 10 AM local time this Wednesday, April 16th, until 10 PM Friday, April 18th. Tickets will then go on sale to the public on Saturday, April 19th, at noon local time at Ticket Master.

Dolly’s “Jesus & Gravity” Music Video Debuts!

Dolly Parton 'Jesus & Gravity' Music VideoDolly’s brand new “Jesus & Gravity” music video officially debuted all across the web today! Directed by Steven Lippman who also did Dolly’s previous hit video, “Better Get To Livin’”, the video begins in black-and-white with Dolly performing the song while video montages of people singing the lyrics flash behind her. The video then switches to color once it reaches the second chorus with Dolly becoming more angelic as the song progresses. Dolly-ite members got a first sneak peak at 9 AM this morning on her official site, DollyPartonMusic.net. Perez Hilton also added the video to his site today, making it his top-featured video. No word yet on when the video will debut on CMT or GAC, but fans can watch the video here:

Dolly Helping To Protect America’s Eagles

Dolly Parton honors America's eagles in Dandridge, Tennessee on April 10, 2008Dolly appeared in Dandridge, Tennessee on Thursday in a special ceremony to celebrate a new commemorative coin and the release of the 90th eagle from the American Eagle Foundation, based out of her Dollywood themepark. In the the woods overlooking Douglas Lake, Dolly hiked up a mountain trail in her 4-inch heels as she joked, “Well, if you’re looking for my wilderness shoes, here they are!” Dolly named the bird Liberty before pulling the cord and setting it free, saying “I thought that sounded better than Baldy.” Video coverage of the event is available from WBIR. Dolly Chats Up Dollywood & “9 To 5″ Musical

Dolly appeared live via satellite from Dollywood today to chat with Fox News about the park’s 23rd season, the new River Battle ride, her recent American Idol appearance, and 9 To 5: The Musical. During the second segment of the interview, Dolly got a surprise from the host when he revealed that Dolly’s 9 To 5 costar Lily Tomlin was on the phone listening in. The two chatted briefly about the upcoming musical before the host revealed another surprise to Dolly as he introduced Michael Johns, one of the final nine American Idol contestants that Dolly mentored last week who was just voted off on last night’s show. Dolly made other appearances throughout Dollywood today to celebrate the park’s 2008 season. She first appeared at the park’s new River Battle water ride wearing a red leather raincoat saying, “I’ve threatened them about the water. Even though I’ve got my raincoat on, I’d just as soon not get wet cause I might fall apart!” Video from that event is available from the Knoxville News-Sentinel. Dolly then appeared at a new Mexican dance show in Dollywood before doing a brief parade through the park. Later that evening, Dolly appeared on top of a grass-covered float in her annual Dolly Parade down the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Check out more coverage and a few photos from Dollymania.
