Dolly Postpones Tour, Cites “Back Problems”

Dolly has been forced to postpone the first leg of her Backwoods Barbie World Tour, citing doctor’s orders to rest due to a back condition. Here is the full statement:

DOLLY PARTON has been forced to postpone her upcoming U.S. tour due to a back condition. Doctors have advised the iconic American singer, songwriter, film star and entrepreneur to take six to eight weeks off in order to recover properly.

The tour–in support of DOLLY’s BACKWOODS BARBIE album, due out February 26 on Dolly Records–was set to kick off February 28 in Minneapolis, MN. DOLLY apologizes to all her fans for this inconvenience and hopes that her fans will be patient until the dates can be rescheduled for late April through May. Tickets will be honored for the new dates.

In a statement, DOLLY said: “I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new Backwoods Barbie CD and world tour together, but I didn’t mean to hurt myself doing it! But hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don’t have back problems. Seriously though, the doctors said I will be good as new in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to get back out there. See you soon, Dolly.”

This is your old friend Lloyd Dockery. I will be praying for your speedy recovery. I hope you remember me, our daddy’s use to work together. We grew up at English Mountain, right at forbidden caverns. Last time I talk with your dad at the pitman center home, he told me to stop in at your house anytime. I will be in Nashville between March 14 – 17 so I am going to take your dad up on his offer and come by and see you. I hope you will be home, I will bring my guitar and sing coat of many colors with you. If you don’t remember me by name, then I will send you a picture of me to juggle your memory. Hope to see you in a couple of weeks,

    Lloyd Dockery
