Dolly Meets Scissor Sister’s Jake Shears

Scissor Sister’s lead singer and long time Dolly fan, Jake Shears, met with Dolly recently while she was over seas promoting her Imagination Library and upcoming Backwoods Barbie album and tour. Shears interviewed Dolly for a half-hour special titled Jake’s Adventures In Dollywood which includes Jake going on “an eye-popping winter wonderland walk through her camp-as-Christmas travelling wardrobe.” The show airs December 26th at 11 AM on Channel 4 in the UK.

Dolly Brings Imagination Library To UK

Dolly PartonDolly has been hard at work the past two days promoting the first overseas expansion of her Imagination Library program in Rotherham, England along with her upcoming European tour, her latest single “Better Get To Livin’” and her forthcoming Backwoods Barbie album. Like her current program in the U.S., about 15,000 preschool-age children in Rotherham will be eligible to receive a free book a month until age five. “I’m just thrilled beyond my wildest dreams at how my Imagination Library has grown from my home county in the U.S., all the way across the pond to The United Kingdom,” Dolly states. “Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of so many little ones.”

Dolly PartonAlthough some dates have already been announced for Dolly’s European tour next summer, a press statement mentions her tour kicking off in Stockholm, Sweden on June 13th and continuing on to Denmark, Norway, Holland and Ireland and the U.K. Fans can expect more dates to be announced soon.
