Prior to kicking off her 2008 Backwoods Barbie world tour, Dolly will be playing three exciting club shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. Each of the three concerts will be intimate, fans-only shows and will feature “an abbreviated set featuring career highlights and her personal selections from the new album.” The dates are as follows: February 4 at The Roxy in Los Angeles, February 11 at Park West in Chicago and February 13 at Highline Ballroom in New York City. Tickets are not being sold for these shows, but Dolly will be giving away tickets through local radio stations and her website, DollyPartonMusic.net. Check back soon for more details!

Three classic Porter and Dolly albums are being reissued onto CD. Their 1980 album Porter & Dolly is coming out this Tuesday, Christmas Day, for just $6.99. Their 1969 album Always, Always and 1971 album Two Of A Kind are being released together on a two-on-one CD reissue on February 12th for $16.98. The upcoming UK special Jake’s Adventures In Dollywood is generating a lot of buzz amongst both Dolly and Scissor Sister fans alike. The official Scissor Sisters website has posted a blurb about the special along with four great photos of Jake meeting his favorite country queen. Two great promo clips of the special have also been posted to YouTube. The first features Dolly and Jake discussing questions they’re sick of hearing from the press and the second clip has Jake singing along with Dolly on “Calm On The Water.” Both are too cute to miss so check them out below:

With the release date only seven short weeks away, the cover for Dolly’s highly anticipated Backwoods Barbie album has just been revealed! Check out a larger version by going to the newly added Backwoods Barbie album page on our site.

The official Larry King Live website has also listed Dolly as an upcoming guest on his show with the interview likely in late January or early February around the time of album’s release. Expect many more television appearances to be announced in the coming weeks!

Scissor Sister’s lead singer and long time Dolly fan, Jake Shears, met with Dolly recently while she was over seas promoting her Imagination Library and upcoming Backwoods Barbie album and tour. Shears interviewed Dolly for a half-hour special titled Jake’s Adventures In Dollywood which includes Jake going on “an eye-popping winter wonderland walk through her camp-as-Christmas travelling wardrobe.” The show airs December 26th at 11 AM on Channel 4 in the UK.

Dolly has been hard at work the past two days promoting the first overseas expansion of her Imagination Library program in Rotherham, England along with her upcoming European tour, her latest single “Better Get To Livin’” and her forthcoming Backwoods Barbie album. Like her current program in the U.S., about 15,000 preschool-age children in Rotherham will be eligible to receive a free book a month until age five. “I’m just thrilled beyond my wildest dreams at how my Imagination Library has grown from my home county in the U.S., all the way across the pond to The United Kingdom,” Dolly states. “Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of so many little ones.”

Although some dates have already been announced for Dolly’s European tour next summer, a press statement mentions her tour kicking off in Stockholm, Sweden on June 13th and continuing on to Denmark, Norway, Holland and Ireland and the U.K. Fans can expect more dates to be announced soon.
