Dolly To Play Santa Rosa in ‘07

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

Dolly Plays The Wells Fargo Center on October 4, 2005Dolly has added Santa Rosa, California as one of her early 2007 U.S. concert dates, playing the Grace Pavilion at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on February 14th. She played the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa as part of her 2005 “Vintage” tour and had such a good time at the venue she wanted to return. However, Dolly’s elaborate stage set up for this set of concerts, with her double staircase and hydraulic lift, would not fit on the Wells Fargo Center’s stage and for the first time in the venue’s 25 year history, concert organizers had to find an off-site venue to accommodate Dolly’s arena-size production. This show is just one of six U.S. shows she will be playing before heading over to Europe in March and it is the only public U.S. show she currently has scheduled for early 2007 that will not be at a casino. Tickets prices are set at $149, $99, $59, and $39 and will go on-sale to Wells Fargo Center members on December 5th at noon and to the public on December 8th at noon. Keep checking back as more dates are confirmed!

Dolly Rocks Mohegan Sun Arena

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Dolly Rocks Mohegan Sun ArenaDolly played her first of five 2006 casino dates last Thursday when she opened at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut to a nearly sold-out crowd. The show opened with Dolly rising up onto a double staircase and singing a rollicking “Baby, I’m Burning” and “Two Doors Down”. The show included many numbers from her 2004 “Hello, I’m Dolly” tour like “The Grass Is Blue” to which Dolly played on piano, “I Dreamed About Elvis” with an Elvis impersonator, and “Islands In The Stream” with a Kenny Rogers impersonator using pre-recorded vocals from the real Kenny Rogers. Dolly also performed “Crimson And Clover” and “Me And Bobby McGee” from her 2005 Those Were The Days album. Her set included the usual round of songs from her early days like “Coat Of Many Colors” and “My Tennessee Mountain Home” as well as the less-performed “God’s Coloring Book”. Dolly finished the show with “I Will Always Love You” before returning to the stage to perform an encore of an upbeat remix of her Oscar-nominated “Travelin’ Thru”. The set list was as follows:
