Dolly Receives Oscar Invite
Dolly has received an invitation to become a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, members of which vote to decide the Oscar winners every year. Approximately 120 invitations to be a member of the Academy were sent out to actors, directors, producers, animators, cinematographers, musicians, writers, editors and various other film industry professionals. Other notable invitees were Felicity Huffman from Transamerica, Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix and Dakota Fanning. Although there is no word on whether Dolly will attend, this year’s new Academy members will be invited to a private reception on September 20th at the Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study in Beverly Hills.
