For all the UK fans out there who have been wanting to see Dolly’s A&E Biography special, wait no more! The Biography Channel UK will debut the two hour special on August 6th at 7 PM. Immediately following the special, Biography will also air Hairdos & Heartaches: The Women of Country Music and Biography: Shania Twain, both of which feature Dolly. To help promote the episode, the Biography Channel UK website has created a game called “Dolly For A Day” where fans can enter their name and choose among different Dolly hair-do’s, shoes, outfits, and accessories to get their fake country stage name and the name of their first big hit. Dolly has received an invitation to become a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, members of which vote to decide the Oscar winners every year. Approximately 120 invitations to be a member of the Academy were sent out to actors, directors, producers, animators, cinematographers, musicians, writers, editors and various other film industry professionals. Other notable invitees were Felicity Huffman from Transamerica, Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix and Dakota Fanning. Although there is no word on whether Dolly will attend, this year’s new Academy members will be invited to a private reception on September 20th at the Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study in Beverly Hills.
