TransamericaAn original Dolly song entitled “Travelin’ Thru” is featured in the new movie Transamerica. Duncan Turner, the film’s director, personally asked Dolly to write a song for the movie, and she happily obliged. “I was proud to be asked to write a song for Transamerica. It’s a remarkable movie that touches you in every single place of human emotion. Working with Duncan Tucker was a great joy and wonderful experience. I’m glad that we were all ‘Travelin’ Thru’ at the same time.” While the film is being shown in select markets starting this weekend, the soundtrack is not slated to be released until February by Nettwerk Records. “Travelin’ Thru” is already some critic’s pick to win Best Original Song at next year’s Oscars.
