Dolly graces the cover of this week’s Country Weekly magazine, talking about her new Joyful Noise film. When asked why she took the part, Dolly says, “I only take parts that I can do that are close to my personality because I don’t know if I could play anything outside of my basic personality.” Dolly also opens up on the dance scenes she was required to do for the film, saying those were the most difficult aspect of making the movie for her. “I was more nervous about that than anything,” Dolly confesses in the article. The issue is out on newsstands now and also includes a fold out poster of the movie.
In related news, the Joyful Noise soundtrack debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard Soundtrack chart and at #21 on the Billboard 200. A column in from Billboard suggests that the album could even break into the top 10 on the next round of album charts. If you haven’t yet purchased a copy, the soundtrack is available now from Amazon for $10.00.
Tomorrow, on her 66th birthday, Dolly will appear on Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show, Anderson, to chat about Joyful Noise. The movie debuted over the weekend and came in fourth with $13.8 million in tickets sold. Watch a preview in the player below.
People magazine also posted a clip from the interview where Dolly discusses the much talked about photo of a supposed tattoo that was captured during her appearance at the Joyful Noise premier in Hollywood last week. When Anderson asked if she does have any real tattoos, Dolly replied “I might, but I’m not going to show ‘em ’til they catch me at it.” Check your local listings for Anderson airtimes tomorrow.
