Dolly in Sacramento, CA

Wow. First of all, my love affair with Dolly began when I was a very little girl and even my Mother doesn't know exactly why I fixated myself on her...but I did. I used to "dress up" like Dolly with wigs, heels, socks in a bra....the whole nine yards. Then I would perform "concerts" for my parents, grandparents, brother & Sister, Dogs, Cats, chickens....whoever would listen. Then in May of 1986, my Dad was away on a Business Convention in Las Vegas and told me that Dolly was in town for one night only at the Golden Nugget. I was almost 8 years old and I freaked out. I was SO excited, so my mom told him that he better get tickets and we flew out there. When my Dad tried, she was sold out. But somehow he managed to pull a few strings and we went to see her. I gave her flowers, she talked to me for a minute and I was so happy. I thought then, as I do now, that she is the most beautiful woman alive (next to my mother of course).

Anyway, last night I went to see her again here in Sacramento, Ca. This time I went with my sister (My Mom lives in Las Vegas now & my Dad passed away). Dolly was just great. The best show I have ever seen. She is sweet, honest, real, funny and has the most amazing God given talent. Thank you so much for coming to Sacramento. I only wish I can see you again soon. When I was a kid, Las Vegas was so neat, because it was so close and intimate, but they don’t do things like that anymore. It would be wonderful to be that close to Dolly again. I wish I could just give her a hug, because she has been such a big part of my life and her music has helped me though so many different times of my life.

Thank you for letting me share my story.
