My family and I went last week to Pigeon Forge and at the recommendation of my sister visited Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede. I have to say that we had the greatest time at both, and I have decided that if Dolly's name is associated with something, then by all means go to it. Dollywood is a first class place. The employees all were friendly and you truly feel at home there. The atmosphere is relaxed, downhome and friendly and to be honest, I wish we had skipped trips into Gatlinburg and just gone again to Dollywood. We went to Dollywood on a Monday afternoon (after 3 pm gets you in on the same ticket the next day for free) and then spent all day on Tuesday and enjoyed ourselves so much. When we were planning our vacation, my boys (15 year old twins) were not at all excited about going to Pigeon Forge, but now they are already talking about going back again next year. We also went to Dolly's Dixie Stampede, and it was well worth the money. It was amazing how professional the employees were, and how quickly everyone was served their food. The entertainment was so much fun. We are definitely going to go again next year, and I am even considering buying the season passes to Dollywood so that we can go more than once. We live in West Tennessee, so it was about a 7 hour drive for us, but was worth every mile.
